Our solutions allow the board to conduct its own search or to have Texas School Solutions conduct the full search. The search process for a new superintendent is customized to meet your needs.
The Board may select from the following levels of service:
I. Training the Board to Do Their Own Search
Texas School Solutions will assist you to:
- Define the elements of your position by meeting with the board in workshop session. Determine what the board wants in a superintendent, qualities and qualifications, experience, special training, and benefits.
- Publish and distribute to all districts, ESCs and listing services of TACS, TASA, TASB a brochure which describes the community, the district, and the elements of your position.
- Review with the board the legal aspects of a search, interview and selection process.
II. Conducting the Search
Texas School Solutions will:
- Conduct the search process by receiving applications and answering basic questions from prospective candidates.
- Screening applicants in one of two ways:
- 1.) Screen all applicants personally and forward five or so to the board for interview
- 2.) Work with the board to screen all applicants together and select those for interview
- Communicate with candidates throughout the process and notify candidates of board decisions. Answer any follow-up questions from candidates.
III. Assuring a Successful Transition
Texas School Solutions will:
- Conduct "Team of Eight" training and build Board/Superintendent Handbook.
IV: Providing an Interim Superintendent
Texas School Solutions will:
- Assist the board in selecting an interim superintendent.
- Enlist the interim superintendent to do the search if the board wishes
